Turkey stocks lower at close of trade; BIST 100 down 1.26%

Investing.com – Turkey stocks were lower after the close on Monday, as losses in the Wholesale & Retail Trade, Textile & Leather and Banking sectors led shares lower.

At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 lost 1.26%.

The best performers of the session on the BIST 100 were Besiktas Futbol Yatirimlari Sanayi ve Ticaret AS (IS:BJKAS), which rose 7.62% or 0.33 points to trade at 4.66 at the close. Meanwhile, Alfa Solar Enerji AS (IS:ALFAS) added 5.34% or 3.20 points to end at 63.10 and Yeo Teknoloji Enerji ve Endustri AS (IS:YEOTK) was up 3.35% or 1.75 points to 54.00 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Peker Gayrimenkul Yatirim Ortakligi AS (IS:PEKGY), which fell 4.27% or 0.07 points to trade at 1.57 at the close. Adel Kalemcilik Ticaret ve Sanayi AS (IS:ADEL) declined 3.93% or 1.48 points to end at 36.14 and Limak Dogu Anadolu Cimento Sanayi ve Ticaret AS (IS:LMKDC) was down 3.78% or 1.18 points to 30.06.

Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Istanbul Stock Exchange by 291 to 260 and 25 ended unchanged.

Gold Futures for February delivery was down 0.05% or 1.39 to $2,674.41 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in January fell 0.87% or 0.62 to hit $70.67 a barrel, while the February Brent oil contract fell 0.28% or 0.21 to trade at $74.28 a barrel.

USD/TRY was up 0.09% to 34.95, while EUR/TRY rose 0.05% to 36.70.

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.02% at 106.66.
