Taiwan stocks lower at close of trade; Taiwan Weighted down 0.11%

Investing.com – Taiwan stocks were lower after the close on Monday, as losses in the , Electricity and Plastic sectors led shares lower.

At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted declined 0.11%.

The best performers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were Oceanic Beverages Co Inc (TW:1213), which rose 9.70% or 1.15 points to trade at 13.00 at the close. Meanwhile, Asia Optical Co Inc (TW:3019) added 6.67% or 8.00 points to end at 128.00 and Alchip Technologies Ltd (TW:3661) was up 5.65% or 155.00 points to 2,900.00 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Arima Communications Corp (TW:8101), which fell 10.00% or 2.20 points to trade at 19.80 at the close. AzureWave Technologies Inc (TW:3694) declined 9.93% or 5.35 points to end at 48.55 and Lead Data Inc (TW:2443) was down 9.85% or 0.39 points to 3.57.

Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Taiwan Stock Exchange by 0 to 0.

Crude oil for January delivery was down 1.19% or 0.85 to $70.44 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in February fell 0.43% or 0.32 to hit $74.17 a barrel, while the February Gold Futures contract fell 0.15% or 3.90 to trade at $2,671.90 a troy ounce.

USD/TWD was down 0.10% to 32.48, while TWD/CNY unchanged 0.13% to 0.22.

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.17% at 106.50.
