Investing.com – Portugal stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Financials, Utilities and Telecoms sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI added 0.20%.
The best performers of the session on the PSI were Mota Engil SGPS SA (ELI:MOTA), which rose 1.33% or 0.03 points to trade at 2.58 at the close. Meanwhile, EDP Energias de Portugal SA (ELI:EDP) added 0.70% or 0.02 points to end at 3.45 and Banco Comercial Portugues (ELI:BCP) was unchanged 0.63% or 0.00 points to 0.45 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Corticeira Amorim (ELI:CORA), which fell 1.65% or 0.14 points to trade at 8.37 at the close. Galp Energia Nom (ELI:GALP) declined 0.42% or 0.07 points to end at 15.58 and The Navigator Company SA (ELI:NVGR) was down 0.17% or 0.01 points to 3.46.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Lisbon Stock Exchange by 14 to 12 and 6 ended unchanged.
Brent oil for February delivery was up 0.22% or 0.16 to $72.46 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in January rose 0.17% or 0.12 to hit $68.84 a barrel, while the February Gold Futures contract rose 0.03% or 0.89 to trade at $2,665.69 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.11% to 1.06, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.18% to 0.83.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.10% at 106.15.
