Turkey stocks lower at close of trade; BIST 100 down 1.73%

Investing.com – Turkey stocks were lower after the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Transport, Banking and Metal Products & Machinery sectors led shares lower.

At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 declined 1.73%.

The best performers of the session on the BIST 100 were Akfen Gayrimenkul Yatirim Ortakligi AS (IS:AKFGY), which rose 3.29% or 0.07 points to trade at 2.20 at the close. Meanwhile, Koza Anadolu Metal Madencilik Isletmeleri AS (IS:KOZAA) added 2.93% or 1.90 points to end at 66.80 and Hektas Ticaret TAS (IS:HEKTS) was up 2.63% or 0.09 points to 3.51 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Ford Otomotiv Sanayi AS (IS:FROTO), which fell 4.46% or 49.00 points to trade at 1,050.00 at the close. Vestel Elektronik Sanayi ve Ticaret AS (IS:VESTL) declined 4.39% or 2.70 points to end at 58.75 and Mavi Giyim Sanayi Ve Ticaret AS (IS:MAVI) was down 4.01% or 3.10 points to 74.15.

Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Istanbul Stock Exchange by 401 to 165 and 14 ended unchanged.

Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.51% or 13.30 to $2,627.90 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in January rose 0.04% or 0.03 to hit $69.20 a barrel, while the January Brent oil contract rose 0.01% or 0.01 to trade at $73.31 a barrel.

USD/TRY was up 0.06% to 34.54, while EUR/TRY fell 0.10% to 36.60.

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.01% at 106.19.
