Portugal stocks lower at close of trade; PSI down 0.62%

Investing.com – Portugal stocks were lower after the close on Friday, as losses in the Consumer Services, Industrials and Technology sectors led shares lower.

At the close in Lisbon, the PSI declined 0.62%.

The best performers of the session on the PSI were Semapa (ELI:SEM), which rose 0.82% or 0.12 points to trade at 14.82 at the close. Meanwhile, Ibersol SGPS (ELI:IBS) added 0.55% or 0.04 points to end at 7.26 and Banco Comercial Portugues (ELI:BCP) was unchanged 0.09% or 0.00 points to 0.43 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Mota Engil SGPS SA (ELI:MOTA), which fell 2.27% or 0.06 points to trade at 2.59 at the close. Galp Energia Nom (ELI:GALP) declined 1.66% or 0.28 points to end at 16.55 and Jeronimo Martins SGPS SA (ELI:JMT) was down 1.45% or 0.25 points to 16.95.

Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Lisbon Stock Exchange by 21 to 6 and 6 ended unchanged.

Brent oil for December delivery was down 1.76% or 1.31 to $73.14 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in November fell 1.84% or 1.30 to hit $69.37 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.92% or 24.95 to trade at $2,732.45 a troy ounce.

EUR/USD was unchanged 0.24% to 1.09, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.12% to 0.83.

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.25% at 103.39.
