Taiwan stocks higher at close of trade; Taiwan Weighted up 0.14%

Investing.com – Taiwan stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Iron & Steel, Electricity and Financials sectors led shares higher.

At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted gained 0.14%.

The best performers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were Les Enphants Co Ltd (TW:2911), which rose 9.99% or 0.75 points to trade at 8.26 at the close. Meanwhile, Bionime Corp (TW:4737) added 9.93% or 5.60 points to end at 62.00 and Daxin Materials Corp (TW:5234) was up 7.89% or 16.50 points to 225.50 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Lemtech Holdings Co Ltd (TW:4912), which fell 7.74% or 12.00 points to trade at 143.00 at the close. Formosa Oilseed Processing Co Ltd (TW:1225) declined 7.11% or 3.50 points to end at 45.75 and Giantplus Technology Co Ltd (TW:8105) was down 6.48% or 0.95 points to 13.70.

Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Taiwan Stock Exchange by 0 to 0.

Crude oil for March delivery was down 0.29% or 0.22 to $75.61 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in March fell 0.18% or 0.14 to hit $79.15 a barrel, while the February Gold Futures contract rose 0.34% or 9.41 to trade at $2,768.61 a troy ounce.

USD/TWD was up 0.44% to 32.78, while TWD/CNY unchanged 0.40% to 0.22.

The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.03% at 107.89.
