Mexico stocks higher at close of trade; S&P/BMV IPC up 0.44%

Investing.com – Mexico stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Industrials, Consumer Goods & Services and Consumer Staples sectors led shares higher.

At the close in Mexico, the S&P/BMV IPC gained 0.44%.

The best performers of the session on the S&P/BMV IPC were Bolsa Mexicana De Valores SAB De CV (BMV:BOLSAA), which rose 2.36% or 0.77 points to trade at 33.33 at the close. Meanwhile, Banco Del Bajio SA Institution De Banca Multiple (BMV:BBAJIOO) added 2.31% or 1.00 points to end at 44.25 and Genomma Lab Internacional SAB De CV (BMV:LABB) was up 2.30% or 0.60 points to 26.70 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Coca-Cola Femsa SAB de CV (BMV:KOFUBL), which fell 2.23% or 3.45 points to trade at 151.28 at the close. Cemex SAB de CV (BMV:CEMEXCPO) declined 1.99% or 0.23 points to end at 11.30 and GCC SAB de CV (BMV:GCC) was down 1.59% or 3.02 points to 187.09.

Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Mexico Stock Exchange by 94 to 39 and 18 ended unchanged.

Gold Futures for February delivery was up 0.72% or 19.30 to $2,691.70 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in February rose 1.20% or 0.88 to hit $74.20 a barrel, while the March Brent oil contract rose 1.35% or 1.03 to trade at $77.19 a barrel.

USD/MXN was up 0.70% to 20.51, while EUR/MXN rose 0.53% to 21.13.

The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.07% at 109.00.
