Portugal stocks lower at close of trade; PSI down 0.10%

Investing.com – Portugal stocks were lower after the close on Monday, as losses in the Utilities, Technology and Telecoms sectors led shares lower.

At the close in Lisbon, the PSI lost 0.10%.

The best performers of the session on the PSI were CTT Correios de Portugal SA (ELI:CTT), which rose 1.34% or 0.07 points to trade at 5.30 at the close. Meanwhile, Banco Comercial Portugues (ELI:BCP) unchanged 1.04% or 0.00 points to end at 0.47 and Semapa (ELI:SEM) was up 0.43% or 0.06 points to 14.06 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were EDP Energias de Portugal SA (ELI:EDP), which fell 1.05% or 0.03 points to trade at 3.10 at the close. Galp Energia Nom (ELI:GALP) declined 0.89% or 0.15 points to end at 16.66 and The Navigator Company SA (ELI:NVGR) was down 0.61% or 0.02 points to 3.56.

Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Lisbon Stock Exchange by 16 to 10 and 2 ended unchanged.

Shares in EDP Energias de Portugal SA (ELI:EDP) fell to 3-years lows; falling 1.05% or 0.03 to 3.10. Shares in Banco Comercial Portugues (ELI:BCP) unchanged to 5-year highs; unchanged 1.04% or 0.00 to 0.47.

Brent oil for March delivery was up 0.95% or 0.70 to $74.49 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in February rose 1.32% or 0.93 to hit $71.53 a barrel, while the February Gold Futures contract fell 0.60% or 15.91 to trade at $2,615.99 a troy ounce.

EUR/USD was unchanged 0.36% to 1.04, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.07% to 0.83.

The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.22% at 108.03.
