Taiwan stocks higher at close of trade; Taiwan Weighted up 0.34%

Investing.com – Taiwan stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Transport, Information Services and Semiconductor sectors led shares higher.

At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted rose 0.34%.

The best performers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were Chia Her Industrial Co Ltd (TW:1449), which rose 10.00% or 2.65 points to trade at 29.15 at the close. Meanwhile, Shunsin Technology Holdings Ltd (TW:6451) added 9.94% or 24.50 points to end at 271.00 and China Container Terminal Corp (TW:2613) was up 9.94% or 3.20 points to 35.40 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Arima Communications Corp (TW:8101), which fell 9.98% or 2.90 points to trade at 26.15 at the close. Lead Data Inc (TW:2443) declined 9.85% or 0.39 points to end at 3.57 and Young Fast Optoelectronics Co Ltd (TW:3622) was down 9.59% or 6.80 points to 64.10.

Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Taiwan Stock Exchange by 0 to 0.

Shares in Chia Her Industrial Co Ltd (TW:1449) rose to 3-years highs; up 10.00% or 2.65 to 29.15.

Crude oil for January delivery was down 0.63% or 0.43 to $67.94 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in February fell 0.58% or 0.42 to hit $71.72 a barrel, while the February Gold Futures contract rose 0.14% or 3.89 to trade at $2,689.69 a troy ounce.

USD/TWD was unchanged 0.01% to 32.43, while TWD/CNY unchanged 0.27% to 0.22.

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.07% at 105.75.
