Belgium stocks higher at close of trade; BEL 20 up 0.07%

Investing.com – Belgium stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Industrials, Utilities and Technology sectors led shares higher.

At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 gained 0.07%.

The best performers of the session on the BEL 20 were Melexis NV (EBR:MLXS), which rose 1.62% or 0.90 points to trade at 56.55 at the close. Meanwhile, Argen-X (EBR:ARGX) added 1.44% or 8.40 points to end at 590.80 and KBC Groep NV (EBR:KBC) was up 1.07% or 0.72 points to 68.22 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were UCB SA (EBR:UCB), which fell 1.30% or 2.40 points to trade at 182.45 at the close. Galapagos NV (AS:GLPG) declined 1.21% or 0.32 points to end at 26.14 and Sofina (EBR:SOF) was down 1.00% or 2.20 points to 217.80.

Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Brussels Stock Exchange by 52 to 44 and 10 ended unchanged.

Shares in Argen-X (EBR:ARGX) rose to all time highs; rising 1.44% or 8.40 to 590.80.

Gold Futures for February delivery was up 0.02% or 0.59 to $2,665.39 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in January rose 0.19% or 0.13 to hit $68.85 a barrel, while the February Brent oil contract rose 0.24% or 0.17 to trade at $72.47 a barrel.

EUR/USD was unchanged 0.10% to 1.06, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.17% to 0.83.

The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.09% at 106.14.
