Portugal stocks lower at close of trade; PSI down 0.84%

Investing.com – Portugal stocks were lower after the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Financials, Consumer Services and Utilities sectors led shares lower.

At the close in Lisbon, the PSI lost 0.84%.

The best performers of the session on the PSI were CTT Correios de Portugal SA (ELI:CTT), which rose 1.15% or 0.05 points to trade at 4.41 at the close. Meanwhile, Altri SGPS SA (ELI:ALSS) added 0.95% or 0.05 points to end at 5.30 and Ibersol SGPS (ELI:IBS) was up 0.82% or 0.06 points to 7.38 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Mota Engil SGPS SA (ELI:MOTA), which fell 2.24% or 0.06 points to trade at 2.53 at the close. EDP Renovaveis (ELI:EDPR) declined 2.18% or 0.24 points to end at 10.79 and Banco Comercial Portugues (ELI:BCP) was down 1.74% or 0.01 points to 0.44.

Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Lisbon Stock Exchange by 16 to 11 and 3 ended unchanged.

Brent oil for January delivery was down 0.25% or 0.18 to $73.12 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in January fell 0.17% or 0.12 to hit $69.05 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.67% or 17.60 to trade at $2,632.20 a troy ounce.

EUR/USD was unchanged 0.11% to 1.06, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.05% to 0.84.

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.05% at 106.15.
