U.K. stocks lower at close of trade; Investing.com United Kingdom 100 down 0.07%

Investing.com – U.K. stocks were lower after the close on Friday, as losses in the Pharmaceuticals & Biotech, Media and Food Producers sectors led shares lower.

At the close in London, the Investing.com United Kingdom 100 fell 0.07%.

The best performers of the session on the Investing.com United Kingdom 100 were Land Securities Group PLC (LON:LAND), which rose 4.31% or 25.00 points to trade at 605.00 at the close. Meanwhile, EasyJet PLC (LON:EZJ) added 3.75% or 19.40 points to end at 536.80 and Fresnillo PLC (LON:FRES) was up 3.02% or 19.00 points to 648.00 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were B&M European Value Retail SA (LON:BMEB), which fell 5.12% or 20.40 points to trade at 378.40 at the close. GSK plc (LON:GSK) declined 3.88% or 52.50 points to end at 1,301.00 and Croda International PLC (LON:CRDA) was down 3.21% or 116.00 points to 3,493.00.

Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the London Stock Exchange by 924 to 859 and 667 ended unchanged.

Shares in B&M European Value Retail SA (LON:BMEB) fell to 52-week lows; falling 5.12% or 20.40 to 378.40. Shares in GSK plc (LON:GSK) fell to 52-week lows; falling 3.88% or 52.50 to 1,301.00. Shares in Croda International PLC (LON:CRDA) fell to 5-year lows; falling 3.21% or 116.00 to 3,493.00.

Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.25% or 6.35 to $2,566.55 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in December fell 1.75% or 1.20 to hit $67.50 a barrel, while the January Brent oil contract fell 1.50% or 1.09 to trade at $71.47 a barrel.

GBP/USD was unchanged 0.27% to 1.26, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.52% to 0.84.

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.07% at 106.52.
