Greece stocks higher at close of trade; Athens General Composite up 1.08%

Investing.com – Greece stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Construction, Travel and Technology sectors led shares higher.

At the close in Athens, the Athens General Composite gained 1.08%.

The best performers of the session on the Athens General Composite were Iktinos Hellas (AT:IKTr), which rose 7.05% or 0.02 points to trade at 0.34 at the close. Meanwhile, Alpha Bank SA (AT:ACBr) added 4.73% or 0.07 points to end at 1.57 and Elton S.A. (AT:ELNr) was up 4.07% or 0.07 points to 1.84 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Premia AE (AT:PREMr), which fell 2.89% or 0.04 points to trade at 1.21 at the close. Gr Sarantis SA (AT:SRSr) declined 2.52% or 0.28 points to end at 10.84 and Cars Motorcycles and Marine Engine Trade and Import Company SA (AT:MTDr) was down 1.36% or 0.04 points to 2.54.

Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Athens Stock Exchange by 72 to 44 and 19 ended unchanged.

Gold Futures for December delivery was down 2.74% or 73.75 to $2,621.05 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in December fell 3.18% or 2.24 to hit $68.14 a barrel, while the January Brent oil contract fell 2.88% or 2.13 to trade at $71.74 a barrel.

EUR/USD was down 0.70% to 1.06, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.34% to 0.83.

The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.59% at 105.50.
