Taiwan stocks higher at close of trade; Taiwan Weighted up 0.82%

Investing.com – Taiwan stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Plastic, Machinery and Electronic Products Distribution sectors led shares higher.

At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted gained 0.82%.

The best performers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were Arima Communications Corp (TW:8101), which rose 350.24% or 7.39 points to trade at 9.50 at the close. Meanwhile, King Slide Works Co Ltd (TW:2059) added 10.00% or 130.00 points to end at 1,430.00 and Foxconn Technology Co Ltd (TW:2354) was up 9.98% or 8.70 points to 95.90 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were ALi Corp (TW:3041), which fell 39.85% or 13.08 points to trade at 19.75 at the close. Chien Kuo Construction Co Ltd (TW:5515) declined 20.18% or 5.54 points to end at 21.90 and GeoVision Inc (TW:3356) was down 10.86% or 7.56 points to 62.10.

Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Taiwan Stock Exchange by 0 to 0.

Shares in Arima Communications Corp (TW:8101) rose to 3-years highs; rising 350.24% or 7.39 to 9.50. Shares in Foxconn Technology Co Ltd (TW:2354) rose to 5-year highs; gaining 9.98% or 8.70 to 95.90.

Crude oil for December delivery was down 0.66% or 0.48 to $71.88 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in January fell 0.54% or 0.41 to hit $75.22 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract fell 0.18% or 4.90 to trade at $2,700.90 a troy ounce.

USD/TWD was down 0.13% to 32.06, while TWD/CNY unchanged 0.22% to 0.22.

The US Dollar Index Futures was unchanged 0.00% at 104.37.
