Taiwan stocks higher at close of trade; Taiwan Weighted up 0.32%

Investing.com – Taiwan stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Machinery, Electricity and Electronic Parts/Components sectors led shares higher.

At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted added 0.32% to hit a new 1-month high.

The best performers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were Arima Communications Corp (TW:8101), which rose 350.24% or 7.39 points to trade at 9.50 at the close. Meanwhile, Chia Ta World Co Ltd (TW:2033) added 9.98% or 2.00 points to end at 22.05 and CyberTAN Technology Inc (TW:3062) was up 9.97% or 3.10 points to 34.20 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Zippy Technology Corp (TW:2420), which fell 9.90% or 7.80 points to trade at 71.00 at the close. Lead Data Inc (TW:2443) declined 9.85% or 0.39 points to end at 3.57 and HannStar Board Corp (TW:5469) was down 9.22% or 5.27 points to 51.90.

Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Taiwan Stock Exchange by 0 to 0.

Shares in Arima Communications Corp (TW:8101) rose to 3-years highs; rising 350.24% or 7.39 to 9.50.

Crude oil for November delivery was down 3.68% or 2.72 to $71.11 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in December fell 3.67% or 2.84 to hit $74.62 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract fell 0.21% or 5.60 to trade at $2,660.00 a troy ounce.

USD/TWD was up 0.05% to 32.20, while TWD/CNY unchanged 0.41% to 0.22.

The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.05% at 103.13.
