U.K. stocks higher at close of trade; Investing.com United Kingdom 100 up 0.45%

Investing.com – U.K. stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Automobiles & Parts, Electrical and Gas, Water & Multiutilities sectors led shares higher.

At the close in London, the Investing.com United Kingdom 100 added 0.45%.

The best performers of the session on the Investing.com United Kingdom 100 were Vistry Group PLC (LON:VTYV), which rose 4.39% or 40.50 points to trade at 963.50 at the close. Meanwhile, Bunzl PLC (LON:BNZL) added 2.42% or 84.00 points to end at 3,550.00 and SSE PLC (LON:SSE) was up 2.40% or 44.00 points to 1,874.00 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Entain PLC (LON:ENT), which fell 8.03% or 61.60 points to trade at 705.40 at the close. Flutter Entertainment PLC (LON:FLTRF) declined 5.99% or 1,110.00 points to end at 17,430.00 and Croda International PLC (LON:CRDA) was down 2.32% or 94.00 points to 3,953.00.

Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the London Stock Exchange by 981 to 781 and 693 ended unchanged.

Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.49% or 13.10 to $2,663.20 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in November fell 2.44% or 1.84 to hit $73.72 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract fell 2.26% or 1.79 to trade at $77.25 a barrel.

GBP/USD was unchanged 0.11% to 1.31, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.12% to 0.84.

The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.35% at 103.04.
