Taiwan stocks higher at close of trade; Taiwan Weighted up 1.07%

Investing.com – Taiwan stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Electronic Products Distribution, Semiconductor and Computers & Peripherals sectors led shares higher.

At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted gained 1.07% to hit a new 1-month high.

The best performers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were Arima Communications Corp (TW:8101), which rose 350.24% or 7.39 points to trade at 9.50 at the close. Meanwhile, Polytronics Technology Corp (TW:6224) added 10.00% or 6.90 points to end at 75.90 and Epileds Technologies Inc (TW:4956) was up 9.92% or 3.10 points to 34.35 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Sunko Ink Co Ltd (TW:1721), which fell 9.96% or 2.35 points to trade at 21.25 at the close. Lead Data Inc (TW:2443) declined 9.85% or 0.39 points to end at 3.57 and SciVision Biotech Inc (TW:1786) was down 9.68% or 12.00 points to 112.00.

Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Taiwan Stock Exchange by 0 to 0.

Shares in Arima Communications Corp (TW:8101) rose to 3-years highs; rising 350.24% or 7.39 to 9.50. Shares in Polytronics Technology Corp (TW:6224) rose to 52-week highs; up 10.00% or 6.90 to 75.90. Shares in Epileds Technologies Inc (TW:4956) rose to 5-year highs; gaining 9.92% or 3.10 to 34.35.

Crude oil for November delivery was down 1.28% or 0.97 to $74.59 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in December fell 1.25% or 0.99 to hit $78.05 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract fell 0.06% or 1.70 to trade at $2,674.60 a troy ounce.

USD/TWD was unchanged 0.01% to 32.18, while TWD/CNY unchanged 0.05% to 0.22.

The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.10% at 102.78.
