U.S. stocks higher at close of trade; Dow Jones Industrial Average up 0.97%

Investing.com – U.S. stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Financials, Industrials and Consumer Services sectors led shares higher.

At the close in NYSE, the Dow Jones Industrial Average gained 0.97% to hit a new all time high, while the S&P 500 index added 0.61%, and the NASDAQ Composite index climbed 0.33%.

The best performers of the session on the Dow Jones Industrial Average were JPMorgan Chase & Co (NYSE:JPM), which rose 4.44% or 9.45 points to trade at 222.29 at the close. Meanwhile, Boeing Co (NYSE:BA) added 3.00% or 4.40 points to end at 151.02 and Goldman Sachs Group Inc (NYSE:GS) was up 2.50% or 12.58 points to 516.30 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Salesforce Inc (NYSE:CRM), which fell 0.71% or 2.07 points to trade at 288.10 at the close. Apple Inc (NASDAQ:AAPL) declined 0.65% or 1.49 points to end at 227.55 and Unitedhealth Group (NYSE:UNH) was up 0.06% or 0.35 points to 598.05.

The top performers on the S&P 500 were Uber Technologies Inc (NYSE:UBER) which rose 10.81% to 86.34, Fastenal Company (NASDAQ:FAST) which was up 9.76% to settle at 76.82 and WW Grainger Inc (NYSE:GWW) which gained 5.84% to close at 1,085.04.

The worst performers were Tesla Inc (NASDAQ:TSLA) which was down 8.82% to 217.70 in late trade, Smith AO Corporation (NYSE:AOS) which lost 6.30% to settle at 80.83 and Align Technology Inc (NASDAQ:ALGN) which was down 3.31% to 222.04 at the close.

The top performers on the NASDAQ Composite were Top Wealth Group Holding Ltd (NASDAQ:TWG) which rose 238.39% to 7.14, NewGenIvf Group Ltd (NASDAQ:NIVF) which was up 63.36% to settle at 0.98 and ATIF Holdings Ltd (NASDAQ:ATIF) which gained 62.67% to close at 1.22.

The worst performers were BAIYU Holdings Inc (NASDAQ:BYU) which was down 35.06% to 0.30 in late trade, Turbo Energy SA ADR (NASDAQ:TURB) which lost 28.71% to settle at 2.16 and Inno Holdings Inc (NASDAQ:INHD) which was down 23.80% to 3.65 at the close.

Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the New York Stock Exchange by 2147 to 659 and 78 ended unchanged; on the Nasdaq Stock Exchange, 2400 rose and 905 declined, while 122 ended unchanged.

Shares in Uber Technologies Inc (NYSE:UBER) rose to all time highs; up 10.81% or 8.42 to 86.34. Shares in WW Grainger Inc (NYSE:GWW) rose to all time highs; up 5.84% or 59.88 to 1,085.04. Shares in Goldman Sachs Group Inc (NYSE:GS) rose to all time highs; up 2.50% or 12.58 to 516.30. Shares in Top Wealth Group Holding Ltd (NASDAQ:TWG) rose to all time highs; up 238.39% or 5.03 to 7.14. Shares in BAIYU Holdings Inc (NASDAQ:BYU) fell to all time lows; falling 35.06% or 0.16 to 0.30. Shares in Inno Holdings Inc (NASDAQ:INHD) fell to all time lows; down 23.80% or 1.14 to 3.65.

The CBOE Volatility Index, which measures the implied volatility of S&P 500 options, was down 1.92% to 20.46.

Gold Futures for December delivery was up 1.25% or 33.00 to $2,672.30 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in November fell 0.15% or 0.11 to hit $75.74 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract fell 0.33% or 0.26 to trade at $79.14 a barrel.

EUR/USD was unchanged 0.01% to 1.09, while USD/JPY rose 0.40% to 149.15.

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.06% at 102.71.
