(Reuters) -Porsche is recalling 27,527 electric sedans in the U.S. over concerns that they may face a short circuit within the battery module, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) said on Tuesday.
The recall affects Porsche’s 2021-2024 Taycan models, NHTSA said.
“A short circuit in a high-voltage battery increases the risk of a fire,” the regulator said.
A remedy will be issued by dealers who will install a diagnostic software in the vehicles and perform free repairs, if needed, the regulator added.
